Fact or Fiction: Can Not Eating Enough Stall Your Weight Loss?

I believe the answer is fact.

For the last several months, I was stuck at 306 pounds. No matter what I did, the scale just wasn't moving.

Like many people trying to lose weight, I thought eating less was the answer. I was skipping breakfast, not getting enough protein, and often going too long between meals.

Recently, I decided to make a few changes.

I started eating breakfast again. I became more intentional about my protein intake. I started eating three meals a day and stopped eating after 6:30 in the evening.

The result?

I finally broke through my plateau and lost 4 pounds in one week.

Now, I know that doesn't mean I'm going to lose 4 pounds every week. Weight loss doesn't work that way. Some of that was likely water weight and my body responding to the changes I made.

But what it did show me is that sometimes we get so focused on eating less that we forget to fuel our bodies properly.

Your body needs nutrients. It needs protein. It needs consistency.

Too many people skip meals, grab whatever is convenient later in the day, and wonder why they feel tired, hungry, and frustrated with their progress.

Sometimes the question isn't, "Am I eating too much?"

Sometimes the better question is, "Am I eating enough of the right things?"

If you're stuck, take a look at your nutrition. Are you getting enough protein? Are you skipping meals? Are you fueling your body or simply trying to survive the day on as little food as possible?

I can't promise the same results for everyone, but I can tell you what worked for me.

Sometimes eating better is more important than simply eating less.
