The First Step Is the Hardest

I was looking at this picture recently and it got me thinking.
When babies are learning to walk, everyone is excited. Parents are cheering them on. Family members are encouraging them. People are standing nearby with their hands out, ready to catch them if they fall.
Nobody expects them to run.
Nobody expects them to be perfect.
Everyone understands that the first step is the hardest.
Yet somehow, as we get older, we forget that lesson.
The person trying to lose weight wants to see the scale move immediately.
The person trying to get healthier wants results in a week.
The person trying to change their life feels like they should already know what they're doing.
But the truth is, the first step is still the hardest.
Walking into a gym for the first time can be intimidating.
Changing your eating habits can be overwhelming.
Starting over after you've failed before can be downright scary.
The difference between being a child and being an adult is that there aren't always people standing around cheering you on.
Sometimes you have to take that first step when nobody is clapping.
Sometimes you have to start when you're afraid.
Sometimes you have to move forward even when you're not sure you'll succeed.
That's where FITTness™ comes in.
We're not here to judge you.
We're not here to expect perfection.
We're here to encourage you, support you, and help you get started.
Just like a parent standing a few feet away from a child taking their first steps, we're here to help you find your balance and build your confidence.
Because once you take that first step, something amazing happens.
The second step gets easier.
Then the third.
Before long, you're doing things you once thought were impossible.
You don't have to run today.
You don't have to be perfect today.
You just have to be willing to take the first step.
We'll help with the rest.
Guidance today. Empowerment for tomorrow.
